A LITTLE SETUP. A LOVELIER WORKFLOW.

Let’s get
you flowing.

This is a developer preview of fildora. It runs on macOS 13 or later, with Apple Silicon and Intel binaries included. Apple Silicon has been tested on hardware; Intel hardware validation is pending.

01 / Get the preview

Download the disk image, open it and copy fildora to Applications. Opening the app starts it quietly in your menu bar. It does not open a regular app window.

02 / Add the extra possibilities

Core PDF and raster-image quick actions use macOS frameworks. Extended formats and tools use optional local engines. If you have Homebrew installed, run:

brew install ffmpeg imagemagick pandoc qpdf sevenzip
brew install --cask libreoffice

The engines stay separately installed on your Mac. They are not included in the fildora download. Reselect your file after installing an engine to refresh its available actions.

03 / Meet your new shortcut

Select files in Finder, then press Control + Option + C. The floating glass wheel appears. Tap Shift for conversion formats, or Command for file tools. You can also click these options.

The first Finder invocation can request Automation permission. Optional Accessibility permission in Settings helps the wheel center around the selected file; otherwise it uses your pointer. Escape dismisses the wheel; Command + K searches.

A few honest limits

Local feels good

Conversion happens on your Mac. The app has no cloud converter, account or analytics, and does not upload your file contents. Optional engine downloads require internet access. Preferences stay in macOS settings. Temporary files are removed after normal completion or handled errors; a forced exit can leave temporary files.
